At GCSE and A Level, GDST pupils outperform not just the general population of schools, but specifically those from the rest of the independent school sector. What’s more, they do so by a significant margin:


- Nearly 50% of GDST students take a science or maths A Level
- Five times as many GDST pupils as the girls’ national average go on to take degrees in medicine, and twice as many go into engineering
- Nearly twice as many of our students took a language at university as the national average
- In 2011 8.5% of GDST school-leavers gained places at Oxford or Cambridge, among the 55% gaining places at Russell Group universities

Beyond the classroom
- Nearly 50,000 former students and staff are members of the GDST Alumnae Network
- GDST schools support hundreds of girls to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award every year (only the Scouts and Girl Guides put more young people through the programme)
- GDST schools are enthusiastic participants in Young Enterprise, and our teams frequently win regional and national awards for their entrepreneurial achievements
