Partnerships

School-specific partnerships

Some of our schools have long-standing relationships with local charities and businesses providing bursary and scholarship support.

Contact the Trust Office for more information about school-specific support schemes.

Educational partnerships and other community links

All our schools see themselves very much as part of a wider community and are keen that staff and pupils engage with their local communities in a wide range of ways. Visit individual school websites to find out more.

HSBC

The GDST has a long-standing relationship with HSBC.

HSBC supports the ethos of the GDST, which is to provide access to the best and brightest girls, and we are delighted to be part of the HSBC Scholarship Programme. This provides bursary funding for girls entering the GDST from maintained schools and we are very grateful for HSBC’s generosity, which helps provide life-changing opportunities. The HSBC Scholarships are available all-through school and to Sixth Formers only.

The bank’s commitment to education is also reflected in its co-sponsorship of the GDST’s Belvedere Academy and its active and valuable participation on our Academy Trust Board.

The GDST HSBC undergraduate internship is a unique programme which offers up to 10 students a three month paid placement with HSBC prior to university. This includes working in the Canary Wharf offices and the opportunity to work across a range of business lines. This programme has been running for a number of years and several interns have returned to the bank for further placements and graduate opportunities.

These programmes form part of the bank’s wider community investment in education. Every year, HSBC supports 17,000 scholarships around the world. Their education work focuses on: helping disadvantaged children; building business and financial literacy; providing environmental education; and improving international understanding.
