Sydenham High School

Our school’s aim is to provide a first class education for girls, recognising that they will each have individual pathways to success. We make sure that our girls are developed intellectually, emotionally and socially throughout their school lives and we measure their success not just by exam results, but by the confident, compassionate and capable young women they become.

Our distinctive approach rests on four pillars

Academic excellence in all subjects – academic results only tell part of the story; we make sure our girls develop enquiring minds, a desire to learn and to think deeply.

A positive social and learning environment – a close community where role models abound, high standards are expected and girls are able to be comfortable in their own skin.

Contemporary, relevant opportunities – extensive clubs, activities and trips designed to broaden horizons, open up possibilities, allowing girls to explore new skills or master existing ones.

A considered approach to student development – we help girls negotiate the challenges of growing up and teenage life so they become effective students, prepared for their future, at university and beyond.
