Wimbledon High School

One of London’s top day schools, Wimbledon High School is a highly academic school for girls aged 4 to 18, located in the heart of Wimbledon, less than 20 minutes from central London.

We promote an exciting, courageous and adventurous culture that encourages risk-taking both in and outside the classroom. Our motivated students are challenged to believe in themselves, within a stimulating environment which fosters independent learning and intellectual robustness. There is a ‘can do’ attitude throughout the school, with girls involved in all sorts of clubs and activities; Headmistress Heather Hanbury is a firm believer that school should be fun.

We count 131 years’ experience behind us, yet our eyes are firmly fixed on the future, on creating and embracing new opportunities in girls’ education. We consider our Sixth Form curriculum to be the best preparation for university for our students – our A Level results year on year are testament to this, coupled with students’ success at getting a place at their first choice of university (74% this year, with 89% getting their first or second choice).

The 6th Form has been like one big family. I’ll miss it, but I know it’s given me the confidence to go on to the next stage of my studies.
