Sheffield High girls knit for good cause

The Chick-knit member’s at Sheffield High School have completed the last of the 101 mini hats knitted for the Innocent smoothies’ charity campaign!

For each hat received by Innocent they pay 50p to the charity Age Concern. The hats will appear on the tops of bottles of smoothies sold in the shops later this year.

Sixth former Cathy Collett who initiated the scheme into the club has produced around 70 of the hats herself and along with the help of fellow knitters reached the target of 101 mini hats. The campaign has proved to be a handy small-scale project for the new member’s of Chick-knit.

Cathy has plans to knit her way to a larger total next year and raise more money for the charity in a very enjoyable and green way!
