Birkenhead High School is (and always has been) an all-through school for girls from the age of 3 to 19, and this model – which gives students the opportunity to develop in a consistent environment dedicated to excellence – is a significant reason for its success.

The all-through character of Birkenhead High is central to its ethos and provides a seamless transition between ages and stages. In our experience it ensures continuity and consistency between junior and senior phases, so that pupils continue to progress throughout their school career and do not, as can sometimes happen, lose momentum in the early years of secondary schooling.

The all-age Academy offers exciting prospects for innovation and the delivery of excellence, and gives older students opportunities to take on leadership roles. The 14-19 phase is supported by the global family of GDST alumnae across 60 countries.
