WHAT
A FANTASTIC DAY!
| Friday
5th May was a day of great celebration in
Howell’s as children, staff and special
guests gathered for the grand opening of our
newly remodelled Junior School.
The sun beamed down
on our beautiful buildings, which were
swathed in metres of brightly coloured
ribbon. The air was filled with excitement
and expectation and with children’s
voices performing a medley of Welsh music. |

Mr. Neville Sims, Chairman of our Governing
Body, cut the giant ribbon and unveiled
a family of standing stones.
At the end of the ceremony hundreds of brilliant
balloons were released into the sky and,
accompanied by cheers and applause, our
exciting future began. |

Creativity Week - Full of fun and learning!
|
The girls in the Junior School had the opportunity to take part
in one of fifteen diverse projects, which ranged through art
and craft, marketing, journalism, film-making, politics, economics
and music.
The briefs for these projects were open-ended and the girls
really enjoyed assuming ownership and developing them together
using their own innovative ideas to fulfil their shared vision.
Each girl chose the topic in which she wanted to be involved
and it was fantastic to see the different age groups working
together.
The Green gang in the willow structure
We all thoroughly enjoyed sharing our creative
work with friends and parents on Friday afternoon and it was
very impressive to see all the girls’ different skills,
interests and aptitudes, as well as the tremendous excitement,
enthusiasm and team spirit.
