The envision

projects to raise awareness about homelessness in Cardiff,
Fairtrade , animal welfare in Bristol Zoo, Sustrans cycles
routes to schools and they also started work on an organic
garden. They received the prestigious Impetus Award which
recognises and celebrates the work of young people in Wales
who aim to make a difference in people’s lives.
The award was presented to Rhiannon (Envision Prefect), Dena,

Rick Riordan
received an enthusiastic reception from both the girls in
the Junior and Senior School. He spent several hours at
the school reading from his new book The Lightning Thief
and delighted his audience with a quiz on the classics.
On his first trip to Wales, Rick Riordan read from his novel
and the girls had a question and answer session in which
he told them that the book was going to be made into a movie
and the Shrek Screenplay writer was currently working on
it. One to look out for! |

Book Week
Both the staff and girls had
lots of fun dressing up as their favourite literary character
as part of Book Week and everyone looked great. This week
also involved a Readathon when all our avid readers managed
to raise a fantastic £2645.50 for the Tsunami Disaster
