As one of the 28 schools of the Girls Day School Trust, Ipswich High School is part of an organisation which, since its foundation in 1872, has been in the forefront of education for girls and has a proud history of providing a broad education of a high academic standard.

Each of the GDST’s 28 schools has their own distinctive character, whilst sharing a passion for education, the freedom to innovate and the benefit of belonging to the largest group of independent schools in the UK.

GDST schools aim to nurture independent thought. Students are encouraged to develop their individual abilities and talents, their integrity, their sense of community and respect and sensitivity towards others.

Ultimately GDST girls are supported to achieve their personal best and to move successfully on to the next stage in life. Last year more than 10% of GDST A level students gained places at Oxford or Cambridge.
