Welcome
Welcome to Norwich
High School for
Girls. We are one of 29 schools of the Girls’ Day School Trust,
providing an all-round, high quality education for girls aged 3 to 18
years. Founded in 1875, the school has enjoyed over a century of
educating girls and we are proud of our special blend of academic excellence
and pastoral care. We know how girls learn and we tailor all our efforts
to this. We nurture confident, self-assured young women who wish to
influence the future.
Norwich
High School provides a warm and caring
environment in
which girls learn and develop, academically, personally and socially.
We set a high value on academic study, both as an end in itself and
as a preparation for working life. We
avoid stereotypes and are proud that our A level students are as strong
in the Sciences and Maths as in Languages and the Arts.
We also help to develop personality and self-confidence through art,
music, drama, practical activities and sport. We hold both the Sportsmark
Gold and Activemark Gold awards for our sporting achievements as well
as the Artsmark Award for our commitment to providing opportunities
across all art forms.
We
hope you enjoy your visit to our web site. It will give you a taste
of life at Norwich High School but the only way to really
experience the warmth and diversity of the school is to visit us. I
look forward to welcoming you - at open days, school events or simply
for an
informal visit.
