Annual Fund
JOIN US! Please help make this year’s Annual Fund a terrific success!
Why does Oxford High need an Annual Fund?
We believe that Oxford High offers an exceptional, innovative and broad based education. We have established the Annual Fund to provide for all of the added extras that further enhance what we offer and which make a very real difference to the lives of all of our students. Throughout its history, Oxford High has been generously supported by alumnae, parents and friends of the school, as well as by the Girls’ Day School Trust. Today the Annual Fund allows all members of the school community to continue this vital philanthropic tradition.
Annual Fund 2006/ 07
We are very grateful to all those who participated in last year’s Annual Fund campaign and we are thrilled at the very real difference those gifts have made. The magnificent total of over £40,000 was made up by personal donations from across the whole school community and fundraising by FOxHS (Friends of Oxford High School). We were able to fund a range of projects that the school could not otherwise have afforded including:
- the transformation of the area behind the Art Faculty into a stunning garden, with newly planted trees and shrubs
- a large wooden summerhouse which is now used to display sculptures and other artistic creations produced by the girls
- a secure park for 100 cycle racks
- DT equipment, tablet laptops, interactive whiteboards, Kwon Do equipment, maths games and much more!
We have also been able to add to our Travel Bursary Fund.

Annual Fund 2007/ 08
We are now half way through our third year of Oxford High’s Annual Fund and the total already stands at an amazing £40,000!
THANK YOU to everyone who has already donated to help make our various projects a reality for the school.
Our target for this year is £50,000!
I do hope that you may be willing to join me as a donor for this year’s fund.
Rock ‘n’ Roll
This year we held our first Annual Fund event. The eight-piece band, Mambo, featuring our own Dr Benjamin Thomson, came to Oxford High for a fabulous evening of Rock ’n’ Roll. The event was a huge success, was enjoyed by everyone and raised a total of £1200 for the Annual Fund.

This Year’s Wish List (2007/ 08)
From this list you will be able to see how these projects will enhance the quality of life and learning for all pupils
Senior Department
Building on the success of last year’s stunning art garden, we would like to erect a large canopy over the chequerboard and patio to make a cool, shady area where the girls can relax at break times. We also want to continue our ongoing planting and to place bird boxes throughout the gardens.

In the library we’d love to install an overhead projector and screen (which will transform presentations) and the Modern languages Department would like to buy a large glass display cabinet to display our Russian artefacts. Finally, the sports department have put in a plea for new equipment to match the standard of the brand-new floor in the sports hall!

Junior Department
At Greycotes, our main aim is to buy beautiful new stage curtains (to complement the wonderful productions, of course!). In addition, the school would like to buy state-of-the-art video equipment to make professional quality videos of these productions.
At The Squirrel we want to concentrate on the outdoor area by providing the younger children with large playground games and a wooden summerhouse in which to store them. We would also like to plant a sensory garden for the children to enjoy, in the form of raised beds to give them easy access. We need one more interactive whiteboard, this time for the Nursery, which will complete our programme, thanks to the success of the Annual Fund to date.

Travel and Tour Bursaries
The school arranges many trips and visits which support the wonderful work that goes on in classrooms, laboratories and on the sports field. Naturally, the school wants to offer these opportunities to all pupils, but we know that costs can be prohibitive. The Annual Fund aims to add to the fund created last year to aid those not able to participate in such activities without some support. We believe it is important for Oxford High to offer every student the opportunity to share in these life-enhancing experiences.
Finally …
Every pupil at the school will benefit in some way from the Annual Fund. This year’s appeal is already underway and we hope to be even more successful than last year. Participation is key to the success of the Annual Fund. It’s all about being a part of it, not how much you decide to give.
