Keeping an accurate database

Our database is extensive and we add to it regularly. However, there are gaps. If you, or anyone you were at school with does not appear to be receiving alumnae postings, please let us know. We will then arrange to update the database at Trust Office.

Not surprisingly generations of students have left Oxford High School to take their place in the world beyond school with considerable success. Generally all go on to the leading universities, many to Oxbridge, and to rewarding careers thereafter.

We are justifiably proud of our students and appreciate keeping in touch with them as they progress through life. All Sixth Formers are automatically members of the Minerva Network, the 45,000 strong association of former students of all GDST schools which supports them with advice on future careers, and professional networking opportunities. We welcome alumnae back to OHS for events organised by our local committee. Many students currently in school have mothers and grandmothers who also attended and this forges strong family connections.

OHS alumnae can be found in all walks of life. Some of these names may be familiar to you:

Dame Maggie Smith (actress); Miriam Margolyes (actress); Sian Edwards (conductor); Elizabeth Jennings (poet); Emma Bridgewater (potter); Ursula Buchan (journalist); Sophie Grigson (cookery TV/writer); Louise Williams (violinist); Dame Josephine Barnes (first woman President BMA); Eleanor Oldroyd (Radio 4 Sport); Dame Rose Macaulay (novelist); Anne Pasternak-Slater (academic); Caroline Series (academic); Helen Darbishire (academic); Julia Hollander (director); Harriet Hunt (international chess grand master); Joanne Van Heningen (architect); Cressida Dick (Commander of Metropolitan Police); Martha Lane Fox (entrepreneur lastminute.com) Jane Salmon (cellist), Liz Jensen (novelist); Melanie Giedroyc (actress/comedienne); Frances Kirwan (academic); Vicky Robinson (ambassador, Rangoon); Louise Fuller (violinist); Teresa Morgan (academic); Rosalind Thomas (academic); Hester Jones (academic); Rebecca Flemming (academic) Eliza Guest (entrepreneur); Camilla Barnes (fashion designer); Lucy Mayers (model), Lucy Gordon (actress/model); Charlotte Mendelson (novelist).
