Application for Entry to The Senior Department
Streatham and Clapham High
School welcomes applications from girls for entry to
the Senior Department at 11+ and 13+. From time to time
there are vacancies in other parts of the school and
it is possible to enter at all phases.
Open Afternoons and Open Evenings
Prospective parents and girls
are invited to visit the School in the Autumn Term when
there is an opportunity to meet the Head, academic staff
and pupils of the school. On the Open Afternoons there
is a chance to see the school at work.
Application Form
Before a girl can be considered
for a place, the application form must be completed
and returned to the Admissions Secretary together with
a non-refundable deposit of £50.

Application Procedure at 11+
Following receipt of application
forms, girls are invited for group interviews, and are
required to sit an Entrance Examination in early January.
Closing dates for 11+ applications is Friday 7th December
2007 although we encourage parents to apply as soon
as possible.

Offers
Places are awarded by the Head
following the criteria below:
- A satisfactory result in the entrance
examination
- A group interview. The Head and
Deputy interview groups of 8 - 10 girls. The interview
will last for approximately one hour. Reading, spelling,
mathematical ability and general knowledge will all
be tested during the course of the group session.
- A reference from the Head of the
candidate's current school. References are sought
on receipt of the application form.
The Entrance Examination
The entrance examination consists
of papers in Mathematics and English. For more details
please refer to the Information Booklet in the prospectus.
Application Procedure at 13+
Following receipt of application
forms, girls are invited for group interviews, and are
required to sit an Entrance Examination in mid January.
Bursaries
A few bursaries are available
subject to very satisfactory examination results.
Fee Information
The termly fee for the academic
year September 2007/2008 is £3490. Fees are payable
in advance either annually, termly or monthly by Direct
Debit. Fees cover tuition other than optional extra
subjects, pupils' accident insurance, all stationery,
text books. Fees do not include lunches. There is an
annual increase in fees in September.
Applications outside of 11+ and 13+
will be considered at anytime during the school year
but bursaries are not available - only full fee paying
paying places.
A registration fee of £350 is
payable on acceptance of a place. This sum will be held
until the end of your daughter's final term in the school
and will be refunded within 12 weeks of her leaving,
less any sums owing to the Trust or School at that time.
School Uniform
All girls below Sixth Form are
required to wear School Uniform, and the uniform list
is sent to all new parents in the Induction Pack. School
