Welcome to the Sixth Form at Streatham
and Clapham High School. We have a reputation as a supportive,
successful and friendly community, where students get
to know each other well by building upon self-belief,
self-respect and respect for others. This is true whether
you are one of our own students or joining our community
from another school or college.
Our
aim is to assist our students in making the right choices
and decisions, so that they give themselves the best
possible opportunity to achieve academic success. We
help them to develop as independent, well prepared and
confident individuals ready to face the challenges of
life.
A
purpose built Sixth Form suite provides an ideal environment
to support their learning at this level.
In our Sixth Form, students are encouraged
to achieve excellence in everything they do. They benefit
from:
- A diverse and stimulating range
of courses to foster a love of learning and the acquisition
of knowledge and skills
- Individual attention and sense of
partnership from highly qualified and dedicated staff
- A happy and supportive environment
- A wide range of extra curricular
activities
- Excellent facilities and resources
- Experienced advice, which will ensure
that students reach their desired destination; most
of our students go on to university or college.
I
look forward to working with you.

Message from the Head Girl 2006
- 2007
Walk through the corridors of
Streatham and Clapham High School and you cannot miss
the smiles on the girls’ faces and the lively
atmosphere that permeates the school. It is a place
where girls can excel in all areas, both in and out
of the curriculum. Whilst academic standards are high,
many girls enjoy participating in extra-curricular activities
ranging from expeditions to Peru to Amnesty International.
These unique opportunities complement the excellent
teaching, pastoral care and cultural diversity that
provide everyone with a sense that they belong. Girls
form bonds with both peers and teachers and, above all,
they feel free to be themselves. Their time in the school
sees them flourish both academically and socially.
The Sixth Form, too, is a close and vibrant community,
with opportunities to take on new responsibilities,
help out in the Junior Department or set up clubs and
societies. Girls participate in a wide range of activities
outside the school day including City Conferences, Duke
of Edinburgh expeditions and Model United Nations. However,
work remains a chief priority with lessons taught in
small, friendly classes. The teachers are extremely
supportive and show a genuine concern that each girl
in every year group should achieve her full potential.
