Junior Department Sport
 Physical
Education offers children opportunities to acquire,
develop and apply skills, perform with increasing physical
competence, set targets for themselves, understand what
it takes to persevere and develop their own preferences
and positive attitudes towards physical activities.
During Key Stage One, pupils will build
on their natural enthusiasm for movement, using it to
explore and learn about their world. They will start
to play and work with other children in pairs and small
groups and will learn the principles of invasion play.
By watching, listening and experimenting, they will
develop skills in movement, co-ordination and will enjoy
expressing and testing themselves in different situations.
During
Key Stage Two, children enjoy being active use their
own creativity and imagination in physical activity.
They learn new skills and link them to make actions,
phrases and sequences of movement and enjoy collaborating,
communicating and competing with each other. They progress
from participation in mini games to competitive matches.

Fixtures
A fixtures list for Netball, Gymnastics,
Hockey, Tennis and Swimming is published at the beginning
of every term. Fixtures are played both home and away
against local schools such as JAPS, Alleyns, Putney,
Thomas's, Sydenham, Wimbledon, Oakfield, Broomwood,
Rosemead.

By the end of Year 6 every girl will
have had the opportunity to represent her school in
a sporting capacity.
Girls of all abilities have the
opportunity to participate in various sport clubs throughout
the year, giving them the chance to practise new skills
and work with different year groups.
