Fees and Assistance
Fees per term 2007-08: £3,490
Academic Scholarships are awarded for entry in Year 7 for outstanding performance in the entrance examinations. No special papers are taken for these awards.
Every year four GDST scholarships are awarded, one in each of the following subjects: . These are awarded upon performance in a practical test and interview in the chosen subject as well as performance in the Entrance Examination. These scholarships are given as a small proportion of fees, for the duration of the girl's career at Sydenham High School.
All scholarships are awarded purely on merit and are not means tested.
Minerva bursaries are the Girls' Day School Trust's own means-tested bursary scheme. They are accessible at Sydenham High School to talented girls who would benfit from a Trust education, but who could not afford it without financial help. The value of the bursary is related to the income and financial resources of the girl's family. As a guide it is highly unlikely that a bursary would be awarded to a family whose gross income is more than £41,000.
If you would like to be considered for a bursary you should complete a separate form so that a means test can be carried out. Forms are available from the Admissions Secretary.
