Our schools

  • 23 independent girls’ schools throughout England and Wales
  • Sponsors of two non-fee paying academies:
    • The Belvedere Academy (Liverpool)
    • Birkenhead High School Academy (The Wirral)
  • All but two of the schools and academies take girls all through, from the age of three or four to 18:
    • Kensington Prep School caters for pupils aged four to 11
    • The Belvedere Academy has pupils aged 11 to 18
  • £30.5m invested in school buildings and facilities in 2016-17

 

Our results

  • At GCSE and A Level, GDST pupils outperform not just the general population of schools but those from the rest of the independent school sector:
  • A-Levels - in 2017 49.0% of girls' exams achieved an A* or A and 75.5% achieved an A*, A or B
  • GCSE - in 2017 73.2% of girls' exams achieved an A* or A or a 7, 8 or 9

Our girls

  • GDST pupils taking degrees in medicine = 5x the national average for girls
  • GDST pupils taking degrees in engineering = 2x the national average for girls
  • GDST pupils undertaking a language degree = 2x the national average for girls
  • Over 45% of GDST students take at least one science at A Level and 39% take maths
  • 6.4% of GDST students gain a place at Oxford or Cambridge
  • Over 69% of GDST students gain a place at a Russell Group university
