Calling all alumnae who received financial assistance!

Calling all pre-1998 alumnae who received financial assistance – can you share you stories?

When the assisted places scheme was abolished in 1998, the GDST set up its own bursary programme to support as many pupils as possible – a programme which has, since then, given 6,000 bright girls from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity of a GDST education.

We’re now looking to start on a major fundraising campaign to give GDST bursaries a massive boost, and to do this, we want to bring the real stories to life to show the impact a bursary can have.

Unfortunately, our records are patchy – and so we’re asking…if you are a former GDST pupil who received any kind of financial assistance (direct grant, assisted place or GDST bursary fund), would you share your story with us?

Please do email us at s.davies@wes.gdst.net if you’d like to take part, or just click here to take our online survey.

We’d also love to talk to you – so again, if you’d be happy to be interviewed, then please do let us know.

We really hope to hear from you – your story could help change a girl’s life in the future.
