Creative juices flowing at Howell’s School

At Howell’s School in Llandaff last Wednesday (22nd November), Year 10 and two Year 5 and 6 Junior School teams undertook the Howell’s Business Challenge, where they were tasked with developing a concept for a new healthy and sustainable juice drink.

The school’s Great Hall was transformed into a creative and innovative hub as the girls worked tirelessly and enthusiastically on their ideas. The students were joined by the creators of the Simply Do Ideas online platform, which the girls used to create an interactive visual pitch.

They operated like a real business, undertaking market research on competitors, their target market, the health properties of their ingredients and sustainability issues such as packaging, fair trade and sourcing local produce.

They also produced a profit projection, an advert and a logo. The concepts were incredible and wide ranging. The overall winners were ‘Tribal Juices’ in Year 10 with their focus on Africa, Fairtrade and sustainability.

Both Junior School teams were very close runners up, with ‘Unicorn Magic’ adding just that extra bit of sparkle!
