Double A Level delight for twin sisters at Norwich High

Students at Norwich High School for Girls are celebrating another year of great A Level results, with 77% of girls achieving A*- B grades. Girls studying Physics and Textiles did particularly well, with 100% achieving A*- A grades in these subjects.

There was double delight for twins, Charlotte and Katie Room, who achieved straight A*/A grades. Katie will now be reading classical archaeology at Oxford and Charlotte will be studying engineering at Bath.

Deputy Head Girl, Shoomena Anil, achieved A* grades in Biology, Maths, Further Maths and an A grade in Chemistry. Shoomena will now be taking up her place to read Medicine at the University of Cambridge.

Shoomena said: “I am really happy; it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. The application process is a lot of work but it’s been worth it in the end!”

Kirsty von Malaisé, Headmistress, said: “’We are very pleased with many strong ‘class and individual’ performances from our girls this year in A2, a testament to their hard work, and our teachers’ commitment. We also have many fine results at AS Level with several straight A sweeps for individuals, during this transition to Linear A Levels.”

This year a record three girls will be taking up places to read Engineering at University: Kim Thorp and Beth Storey will be joining Charlotte Room at Bath University.

Head Girl, Chloe Lansley celebrated exceptional results in her AS levels, scoring a stunning 100% in Drama and dropping only eight UMS points in French and Latin.
