The Arkwright Engineeering Scholarship programme awarding scholarships to talented students in STEM

Eight GDST girls have been named ‘future leaders of engineering’, receiving scholarships from a prestigious national organisation.

The Arkwright Engineering Scholarship programme is the most important of its kind in the UK. Each year, they award scholarships to the most talented students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) aged between 16-18 years old.

Arkwright scholars receive financial support, along with mentoring, networking opportunities and work experience. The scholarships are designed to support the ‘brightest and best’ to consider a career in engineering.

Well done to the GDST girls who received scholarships this year:

  • Elizaveta Sheremetyeva, Oxford High School
  • Lowena Hull, Portsmouth High School
  • Honor Erskine and Charlotte McCorry, Royal High School Bath
  • Lia Radus, South Hampstead High School
  • Saskia Brewster, Defne Kisinbay and Aabidah Khan, Wimbledon High School
