Is magenta a real colour?

Year 5 girls from 23 GDST schools could tell you the answer after exploring the ‘science of colour’ at The Royal institution in May 2019. They charted the colour spectrum, performed colour chromatography, burned metal salts in flame and discussed how the eye understands colour.

In the iconic Faraday theatre, they listened to the history of the institution and the role of women scientists in discoveries over the centuries.
