Music and song filled every inch of Llandaff Cathedral on Saturday 1st April as Howell’s School, Llandaff hosted its annual Spring Concert.
The evening began with an awe-inspiring rendition of Handel’s Zadok the Priest, followed by a miscellany of musical items from the GDST Young Choir of the Year competition, Youth Choir, Senior Choir, College Choir and Senior Orchestra.
After the interval, a breath-taking performance of Mozart’s beautiful Requiem gave students the opportunity to perform in a large scale choral works, with an orchestra and choir that were both augmented by alumni, staff, parents and friends; it was a wonderful example of the whole school community coming together.
It was the final concert for our Year 13 students and the school wishes them every success for the future and thanks them warmly for their unstinting support and for sharing their musical talents.
Howell's School is extremely fortunate to have close links with the Cathedral and is very grateful to the Dean and Chapter for allowing it to hold the Spring Concert in such a splendid building.
Congratulations to Mrs Phillips, the Music Department and everyone who worked so hard to make the concert a resounding success!
