Ipswich High girls achieve highest GCSE results in seven years

Ipswich High School is celebrating another outstanding set of GCSE results with 90.1% of GCSE results awarded at A*-B grade, despite the decline nationally.

This year, 70.1% of Ipswich High School students’ GCSE grades were A*-A; one third of our results were A* and 15% of students gained seven or more A*s in all subjects. Once again, the school has witnessed a steady increase in its GCSE results, a trend for the last seven years.

Mirroring its success at A Levels this year, the school has also seen outstanding results across a wide range of traditional and modern subjects. Their students excelled in every subject and achieved A* across a range of subjects, highlights include:

  • 100% A* grade – Latin
  • 100% A* grade – Chinese (Mandarin)
  • 60% A* grade – Chemistry
  • 54% A* grade – Religious Education
  • 46% A* grade – Geography
  • 30% A* grade – English Language

Oona Carlin, Head at Ipswich High School commented:

“I would like to congratulate all our students for their effort and dedication which has gone into achieving these fantastic results. It is wonderful to see A* grades across such diverse and broad subjects which demonstrates that our students flourish as individuals in the Senior School.

I cannot wait to see what our girls achieve in the next part of their academic journey.’’
