Norwich High girls deliver a fantastic set of GCSE results

Excellent GCSE results are being celebrated at Norwich High School with 55% of all grades at A*- A / 9-7 grades. An amazing 28 girls achieved at least 7 A*-A / 9-7 grades each, with over half of this group gaining 5 or more A* / 9-8 grades. 65% of all girls achieved at least 4  A*-A / 9-7 grades each.

Four of the girls in this group have been crucial in shaping the school’s Inspiring Females programme since it was formed in 2016 (Maddie Hazelden, Netra Jeyapragash, Maddie Joglekar and Laura Sillitoe), all continuing to contribute even throughout their busy GCSE year. Together they achieved an outstanding 31 A*s/9-8 grades between them – and all four are looking forward to developing the programme further in their Sixth Form years at Norwich High!

Particular congratulations must go to Ellie Dew, Netra Jeyapragash, Maddie Joglekar, Lisa Moore and Flora Norton who achieved 8 A*/9-8 grades each, Amy Elsom, Oke Ighomero and Aditi Naik who achieved 9 A*/9-8 grades each, Maddie Hazelden and Elizabeth Pearson who achieved an outstanding 10 A*/9-8 grades each, and Anna Wasse who achieved 10 straight A*/9 grades. That’s an amazing 97 top grades between this group of eleven.

English results were fantastic once again with 94% A*-B grades in the Language examinations (a 6% increase on last year’s results) and 90% A*-B grades in Literature.

Norwich High girls shone in the Sciences with 45% gaining A*s in both Chemistry and Physics, and 99% of all girls gaining A*- C grades across the three subjects.

Geography results were excellent too, with 97% at grades 9-6, of which 76% were 9-7 grades.

It was an excellent year for Spanish with 100% of all grades at the A* to B grade, with 92% gaining A* to C grades in French and German. Latin results were excellent, with 89% of grades at 9-8 and all 100% of girls gaining 9-7 grades. There were also 100% 9-7 grades in Greek too.

Performing and Creative Arts results were once again a strength at Norwich High with an amazing 100% of girls gaining 9-7 grades in Music, and 100% 9-5 grades in Design Technology, Drama and Textiles.

Religious Studies results were also strong, with 50% of these grades at the top 9-8 grades.
