Sheffield High celebrates with 69% of entries graded A*-B

Sheffield High School for Girls is celebrating another outstanding set of A Level results with 69% of entries graded A*-B. More than a quarter of the 92 girls who sat A Levels achieved straight A*/A results and almost two thirds got at least one grade A.

The girls excelled in Business, Economics and Politics subjects with over 70% of all the results reaching the top grades of A*-B. This year, a high proportion of girls will go onto study business, economics and politics related courses ranging from Government and Politics at the London School of Economics, Fashion Buying and Merchandising at Manchester Metropolitan University and Human, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University.

In addition, the school continues to buck the trend with over half the girls studying STEM related subjects.

Speaking about the results, Headmistress Valerie Dunsford said:

“I would like to congratulate the girls on their fantastic results. It has been wonderful to see them fulfil their potential, not only academically but also in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. We are absolutely delighted that so many of them have achieved their first choice of university and wish them all the best as they move onto the next stage.”
