Shrewsbury High alumnae celebrate 20 year reunion

The chatter and clinking of prosecco glasses could probably be heard way beyond Town Walls on Saturday 8th June as the class of 1999 reunited in the Old Hall at Shrewsbury High School for their 20 year reunion celebrations.

Former pupils and teachers joined together to reminisce and catch up with old friends. For many, it was their first time back to the school since they left 20 years ago and as always happens with reunion events, the first place their eyes were drawn was to the Scholarship & Awards’ boards to see if they could spot familiar names!  No alumnae reunion is complete without a tour of the school and it is the dining hall and stunning Sixth Form house that have returning girls green with envy – although it is always fun to see them playing out famous scenes from their old classrooms!

What made this reunion so special is that we several of this year group are now SHS parents themselves, with sons and daughters at our Prep school and girls joining us into Year 7 in September.  Our next alumnae celebrations are in October and November when we welcome back girls from 2009. If you would like to hold a Reunion Event for your class, we are always thrilled to welcome alumnae back to the school.  Please email alumnae@shr.gdst.net to find out more.
