South Hampstead charity walk along the Thames

Last month, South Hampstead High School embarked on an epic walk along the River Thames, raising money for Care International.

On the last day of term, and National Walking Day, the whole school came together to raise money for charity with a sponsored walk along London’s winding river. The girls made a tremendous effort to raise £16,000 for Care International, who fight poverty and injustice in the world’s most vulnerable places; focusing on supporting women and girls to overcome inequality and to fulfil their potential.

Girls made their way to Canary Wharf before snaking along the river, taking in some of London’s most spectacular sights (and a bit of hail) along the way. With the walk ending near the Houses of Parliament, the Head Girl Team galvanised girls from across the school to write to their local MPs highlighting issues they are concerned about.
