Our staff are an essential part of ‘the GDST difference’, which is why we invest resources and time in their development. We want them to fulfill their own aspirations – for their own sakes and for the benefit of our schools and pupils.
GDST career development opportunities include:
- The Middle Leaders Development Programme, for department or Year heads. It includes best practice in teaching skills; developing and leading a team; and leadership skills at departmental level as well as in relation to the school as a whole and to the GDST’s wider goals
- The Aspiring Leadership Programme, a one-year development programme consisting of face-to-face workshops, mentoring, coaching and school-wide projects. It aims to increase the pool of potential heads and senior leaders across the Trust
- Access to other extensive training programmes for both teaching and non-teaching staff
- Access to grants and loans for professional qualifications
There are also opportunities for staff to join and participate in communities of practice, collaborating with colleagues from other schools.
