  • Reading materials and guidance;
  • Collaboration and networking events and peer reviews;
  • Coaching, mentoring and shadowing.
“I feel respected and valued as a teacher and as a leader. My confidence as a practitioner has flourished and I feel privileged to have been promoted to lead my school as Head in 2019 - which is testament to the nurturing of talent which goes on within the GDST and the wealth of opportunity on offer.” – Bethany Dawson, Head at Sutton High School

Every staff member has access to our bespoke professional development programme, offering colleagues from across our family of schools, the opportunity to learn alongside one another.

‘GDST Learn’ is calibrated to the Trust’s strategic priorities, and informed by schools’ own requirements. The in-house training programme provides a range of courses, programmes, conferences and forums run over the academic year (around 260 face-to-face sessions), and many online courses and webinars, as well as opportunities to gain professional qualifications.
