A Levels 2024 — a 100% pass rate for Northwood College for Girls
Students, parents, and staff at Northwood College for Girls had much to celebrate this morning when the Year 13 cohort received an outstanding set of examination results – with 53% of this year’s A Level and EPQ grades at A* and A.

“The results are a true testament to the dedication and hard work demonstrated every day by our students and teachers alike.”
Head, Rebecca Brown, said: “We are unashamedly ambitious for all our students at Northwood, so I am delighted to announce that 75% of this year’s A Level and EPQ grades are A* – B. With 100% of grades for subjects, such as, Physics, Further Maths, Art, Latin and Religious Studies at A* and A grades, the results are a true testament to the dedication and hard work demonstrated every day by our students and teachers alike.”
Mrs Brown and her team are also looking forward to welcoming the Year 11 students back into school next week to celebrate their GCSE results. The cohort will have the opportunity to celebrate their Additional Maths qualification results, also received by the school today and revealing that 100% of the students have achieved the top score.
Mrs Brown said: “We have very high expectations for ourselves and for all our girls, which is why we were particularly proud to announce last month that we have been shortlisted for the third consecutive year for the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.”
Northwood College students immerse themselves in their subjects, always motivating and championing one another to excel. True advocates for girls’ education, Northwood teachers are passionate, innovative educators, who ignite intellectual curiosity and unlock an insatiable thirst for discovery whilst stretching and challenging each student to be her very best self.
Mrs Brown concludes: “We will certainly miss our Year 13, they have worked tirelessly throughout their whole school careers, and I am delighted that they can now look forward to taking their well-deserved places at renowned institutions, such as, University of Oxford, University of Warwick, University of Nottingham, Cardiff University, University of Birmingham, University of Exeter, University of Leeds and Southampton University, where they will go on to study subjects ranging from Law to Fine Art, Economics to Chemistry and Pharmacy to Classics.
Our students are NWC girls for life, and we look forward to sharing their future successes with them. I was thrilled today to receive the results of four of last year’s leavers, who we went on to support with their applications for medical courses, and who have now been accepted on to their chosen medical and veterinary schools.”
Set to take their place in a world that they see full of opportunity, Northwood girls leave school with the confidence, skill set and values to excel in the workplace. Embarking on a lifelong love of learning and emboldened to talk out on issues that matter to them, these students are set to live lives of purpose, integrity, and impact – happy and ambitious young women with fire in their bellies, and ready to reshape the world!
