A Levels 2024 — Howell’s College celebrates outstanding A level results
2024’s A Level students at Howell’s College learned that they have outperformed pre-Covid results. The achievement of such a positive set of results was welcome recognition for the commitment, energy, and enthusiasm that the students have shown throughout their College studies.
- 95% of offer holders got into their first choice university
- 82.2% of students’ results have been graded A* — B
- 58% of all grades received were A*— A
- Twelve students achieved three A*s or more
The diverse talents and passions of this year group are reflected in the broad range of destinations that they are headed for in September. The class of 2024 will be found studying Astrophysics at UCL; Biology at the University of Oxford; English at Durham University; Fashion Marketing at the University of Manchester; Graphic Design at the University of the Arts London; History at the University of Warwick; International Relations at University of York, Medicine at the University of Manchester and Sports Management at Loughborough University, to name just a selection.
“We are delighted with the results achieved by the Year 13 of 2024 and congratulate them for their efforts. We are hugely proud of them all.”
Principal Sally Davis commented:
“We are delighted with the results achieved by the Year 13 of 2024 and congratulate them for their efforts. We are hugely proud of them all. Throughout their time at Howell’s they have all grown and dedicated themselves to achieving continuous excellence. I am confident that this growth and the values that our students have developed during their time here stand them in good stead in their future studies and careers.
“I know that the students and their parents will echo my comments when I also thank the staff in the College for their dedication to supporting our students to achieve such positive academic and pastoral outcomes. The team at Howell’s provide a wonderful foundation for our students’ success.”
This year’s cohort were the first to sit the brand-new Digital Technology A level. This subject advances learners’ understanding of how innovations in digital technology, and the increasing levels of connectivity between them, impact the lives of those who use them and the wider society. Three of these students achieved an A*; two of these are now going on to study Computer Science as undergraduates and the other is combining her passion for digital skills with her top grade in Product Design to study Architecture.
Deputy Principal and Head of Digital Learning, Cathy Darnton said:
“I am delighted that our class of young women have widely developed skills in coding, game design web development and an understanding of the role of artificial intelligence in a future we can’t yet see.”
