Another year of outstanding A Level success at Newcastle High School for Girls
Sixth Form pupils at Newcastle High School for Girls (NHSG) are celebrating another phenomenal year this A Level results day with around half of all grades being at A* to A and an impressive nine percentage point leap at A * – B grades compared to 2023 bucking national trends.
Demonstrating its continued upward academic trajectory in delivering outstanding results for its pupils, NHSG has today reported that 80% of grades are at A* to B, 95% at grades A – C and a 100% pass rate.
”It’s always a joy to see the girls nerves replaced with delight when they open their results and they can finally reap the rewards of all the hard work they’ve put in during the last two years.”
Taking up the role earlier this year, NHSG Head, Amanda Hardie, said: “I am incredibly pleased with this summer’s A Level results and so delighted for each and every girl as they fulfil their dreams and ambitions and start on the next stage of their life. It’s always a joy to see the girls nerves replaced with delight when they open their results and they can finally reap the rewards of all the hard work they’ve put in during the last two years. Our whole staff team is equally thrilled to see the girls’ achievements as well as the percentage point leap at A* – B which is recognition for the approach we are taking at NHSG to further strengthen our academic standing.”

Underneath the headline statistics lay exceptional individual achievements from pupils at the school which will see girls heading to universities across the UK as well as overseas.
The Head, Amanda Hardie, added: “We say it every year, but you really can’t deny the benefits of an all-girl education. We pride ourselves on empowering girls to learn without limits in a productive and dynamic environment. Ambitions are always strong amongst the NHSG student community, and I for one can’t wait to hear this cohort’s names mentioned in the years to come as they blaze a trail of success in their chosen field. We are all so incredibly proud of them and hope they all enjoy some well-earned celebrations with their friends and families. They absolutely deserve it.”
