A story of triumph for Ellie Robinson, GDST alumna

We could not be prouder of Team GB swimmer and Northampton High School alumna Ellie Robinson MBE, for taking fifth place in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic S6 50m Butterfly final despite having faced what she called “one of the hardest years of my life”.

Ellie demonstrated incredible resilience, perseverance and bravery, battling against a painful hip condition, to be able to compete in Tokyo and end her sporting career on her own terms. In her own words, hers is “a story of triumph, not a story of defeat.”

She is an incredible role model for our GDST girls, and we wish her all the best in her future plans.
