Blackheath High School gains prestigious ICT Mark Award

Students at Blackheath High School in Royal Greenwich Borough are at the forefront of using technology to enhance their work, and that’s official!

Following another extensive external assessment, Blackheath High School has, once again, been awarded the prestigious ICT Mark.  The school first received the award in 2012 and has continued to develop the strategic use of technology across the curriculum.

Head teacher Carol Chandler-Thompson commented: “on behalf of Blackheath High School, I am delighted to be awarded the ICT Mark once again. We believe that it recognises our creative and innovative approach to the use of technology and the benefits it is bringing to our students

The lead member of staff, Darren Nott (Director of ICT), involved in ensuring the school was ready for ICT Mark assessment, added:  “I am really pleased that the presentation of this award shows recognition of the excellent work that is taking place at Blackheath High School.  It was fantastic to hear such positive feedback from the assessor who felt we have made significant improvements in our use of ICT since our last assessment in 2012. It was so encouraging to hear how empowered our girls feel about using their mobile devices and Firefly VLE to support their learning at school and from home.”

Mark Chambers, Naace CEO, said “Blackheath High School thoroughly deserve the accolade of an ICT Mark accreditation. They clearly demonstrate how important it is to take a whole school approach to using technology in their school.”
