Five-year high for Wimbledon High in its A Level results

Students at Wimbledon High School are today celebrating a fantastic set of results at A Level. The percentages of A*- A grades and A* – B grades are at a five year high:

  • 66% of grades were A*- A
  • 91% of grades were A* – B
  • 99% were A* – C

In an outstanding year, 45% of students (37 girls) got a clean sweep of A* or A grades.

Jane Lunnon, Head of Wimbledon High School, said:

“I’m delighted for our students. They have worked so hard for this, showing utter commitment to their studies and they have been wonderfully inspired and supported by their teachers. At a time when information comes in ever more bite-sized pieces, when there are a myriad of conflicting demands on young people’s time, the dedication to scholarship in their chosen A level fields in these students is truly impressive.”

She added, “They are young women who, alongside their studies, have given freely of their time in community projects and who have brilliantly led the co-curricular life of the school – in music, drama and sport.”
