The figures included particularly strong performances in departments: 100% grade 9 in Greek, 83% grade 9 in Latin, 76% grade 9 in Music, 73% grade 9 in Physics, 72% grade 9 in Mandarin and 70% grade 9s in French and Religious Studies.
“Looking at their A level choices it’s clear we have a strong cohort across all disciplines, who will relish the independence and rigour of the next stage of their education.”
Head Fionnuala Kennedy said:
“It’s been wonderful to welcome students and their families back to school and to see the pride they feel in having achieved such excellent results. It’s gratifying to see some of the smaller subjects really shine through – languages ancient and modern are thriving at Wimbledon High School, alongside STEM and the Humanities.
“The fact that over 79% of grades overall are what used to be an A* is testament to these students’ hard work and dedication. Looking at their A level choices it’s clear we have a strong cohort across all disciplines, who will relish the independence and rigour of the next stage of their education. We look forward to welcoming them into Sixth form early next month, alongside a number joining us from other schools.”
