GDST girls run the world

Schools from across the GDST family came together from the 19th to 23rd March to take part in a huge round-the-world challenge in aid of Sport Relief 2018.

Inspired by the gruelling challenges undertaken for Sport Relief by celebrities such as Davina McCall, Eddie Izzard and Jo Brand, students walked, ran, climbed and even skied to collectively cover the distance of the circumference of the globe. That’s a staggering 25k miles!

The girls, drawn from junior schools, senior school and sixth forms took part in a whole range of exciting activities throughout the week to cumulatively rack up the miles (and sponsorship money!) towards the target. They were joined in their efforts by staff and GDST alumnae. Each participant donated at least £2 to take part.

The climax took place at Croydon High School, who spearheaded the challenge, on Friday 23rd March, where the final few miles were completed.

All proceeds will go to Sport Relief to help vulnerable people, across the UK and the world to live happier, healthier and safer lives.
