GDST Junior Christmas Card Competition

Junior pupils across our family of schools have been getting into the festive spirit by designing brilliant Christmas cards as part of our annual GDST-wide competition.

Each school submitted one Christmas card entry, under the theme of Festive animals and Christmas Characters. GDST Chief Executive, Cheryl Giovannoni, chose this year’s winner – the truly original and charming design below by Northampton High School Year 1 student, Isabelle.

As well as receiving a £50 National Book Token voucher and £450 for her school’s chosen charity, KidsAid, Isabelle’s design has been turned into a ‘season’s greeting’ email sign-off for all GDST staff to adopt.

Well done to our runners up too. Check out these amazing festive artworks from our GDST junior girls from Blackheath High School, Bromley High School, Croydon High School, Howell’s School, Llandaff, Newcastle High School for Girls, Northwood College for Girls, Norwich High School for Girls, Nottingham Girls’ High School, Portsmouth High School, Royal High School Bath, Shrewsbury High School, Streatham & Clapham High School, Sutton High School and Sydenham High School.

Talking about the competition, Isabella Sharp, GDST Head of Communications, said:

“We have run this joyous initiative for several years now. Our young students really enjoy getting involved and each year produce fantastic, imaginative designs – this year was no different. A big well done to all of our students who got involved and special congratulations to our winner Isabelle”.
