GDST Juniors read for empathy

The GDST’s programme of storytelling events, ‘Adventures in Bookland’, continues for Empathy Day.

Junior pupils from across the GDST family of schools will be walking in someone else’s shoes with children’s writer Penny Chrimes to show their support for Empathy Day 2021.

The GDST has collaborated with Penny Chrimes (author of Tiger Heart and The Dragon And Her Boy) to produce a video presentation with a unique take on seeing life from another’s perspective. Accompanying creative tasks and practical resources will teach pupils about empathy and ways to put it into practice.

“We hope our schools enjoy using these resources with their pupils. Never have we needed empathy more, and reading and writing is a great way to develop these feelings in young people”, says Amy Icke, GDST Online Learning and Innovation Manager.
