GDST Junior Schools are taking part in an exciting Maths competition this week. The GDST Maths Junior Rock Out 2021 will be played online via and is open to Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

For every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, girls will earn their class a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours). Winning classes in the school across the GDST as a whole will be the ones with the highest average. Winners will be announced on Friday.

All game modes (Gig, Garage, Studio, etc.) will count but only from games played between 7.00am and 7.00pm on Monday 25th, Tuesday 26th, Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th January – obviously there should be a sensible limit and should not impact on family plans!

Times Tables Rockstars is engaging, competitive and improves the girl’s arithmetic.

As Schools Minister Nick Gibb said:

“You will see children delighted with the sense of achievement which comes from mastering mathematical knowledge.” We wish all of our Junior Schools good luck and look forward to seeing the results on Friday.
