Bromley High School, GDST, has launched its inaugural Steinway Scholarship.

The first recipient, Sophia Short in Year 12, has won lessons with a Steinway artist and will perform a recital at Steinway Hall in Marylebone, central London. A deciding panel of adjudicators for the award included: Eva Doroszkowska and Kristina Arakelyan from the Royal Academy of Music, George Soole from Steinway & Sons, and Caroline Daniel, Director of Music at Bromley High.

Bromley High School is the first all-girls Steinway School in the world – and one of only 25 Steinway Schools in the UK. All Steinway Schools demonstrate a commitment to excellence in music by only using world-class Steinway pianos across the school, from the practice room to the recital hall.
