Junior Inclusion Forum: Empowering young voices, celebrating every story
At the GDST, we believe that inclusion isn’t just a value—it’s a lived experience, shaped by the voices of our students. That belief came to life last week as 40 fearless Year 5 and 6 pupils from across our family of schools gathered at GDST Trust Office for our Junior Inclusion Forum: a day of learning, connection and celebration.
Our commitment to EDI, led by student voice
As an organisation founded on the radical belief that girls were as worthy of an education as boys from as early as 1872, that same pioneering spirit lives on today in our unwavering commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We’re proud to be building a community where every student feels seen, heard and valued.
The Junior Inclusion Forum was a vibrant expression of our commitment in action, ensuring every girl – no matter her background – can learn without limits.

Empowering our students
Led by Ashmi Morjaria, Trust Consultant Teacher for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Claire Bale, Head of EDI, the Junior Inclusion Forum was rich with storytelling, creativity and courageous conversations. Guest speakers inspired curiosity and empathy, while hands-on workshops invited pupils to explore heritage through art and dialogue. Each pupil left the forum with a mission: to take what they’d learned back to their schools—leading assemblies, sparking conversations, and championing inclusion in their own communities.
With a focus on underrepresented cultures and a commitment to amplifying student voice, the event showcased how our pupils are not only learning about equality, diversity and inclusion—they’re leading the way. It’s a powerful reminder that when we empower young people to speak up and take action, real change follows.
Undivided – Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
The GDST’s celebration of its diverse community and commitment to equality and inclusion is embodied in the Undivided Charter. GDST schools strive to provide every student with a sense of belonging by ensuring they see themselves represented in the curriculum, are supported by inclusive policies and practices, and are celebrated as individuals.
