New Nottingham Nursery opening this September

This September, Nottingham Girls’ High School will open its doors to girls aged 3.

After much research, discussion with our parent community and consultation with the GDST family, it was agreed that there was a desire for the school to extend its teaching to those at nursery age.

The aim of the Nursery is to provide a fun, happy, safe environment for girls to develop their confidence, skills and love of learning, through a mixture of self-directed and teacher-led activities. This will also prepare girls for a seamless transition into reception classes, as well as building confidence and skills for life beyond school such as:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical
  • Personal, social and emotional
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

These will be delivered by Nottingham Girls’ expert staff with additional specialist activities; from languages to food technology and outdoor learning in our on-site woodland.

A close relationship and teamwork with parents will ensure that everybody who matters is kept in the loop at all time. And parents will get the chance to see their daughters enjoy themselves as they progress.

Many other GDST schools already have nurseries and we are delighted that Nottingham Girls’ will be joining them, offering the very best in girls’ education from nursery age.
