Northwood College for Girls GDST announces 100% pass rate with 54% of A level results at grades A*- A

Pupils, parents and staff of leading independent girls’ school, Northwood College for Girls, had much to celebrate this morning when the Year 13 cohort received a set of outstanding A-Level results.

Northwood College for Girls’ Head, Rebecca Brown, commented:

“I am proud and delighted to announce a 100% pass rate for this year’s A level examinations. Dramatically surpassing the national average, 54% of our results are at grades A*-A and over 80% are at A*-B. Today’s success is a true testament to the knowledge-rich, rigorous education and culture of scholarship at Northwood, which is underpinned by the sheer grit and determination shown by our brilliant students and teachers alike. We are unashamedly ambitious for our girls, no one flies under the radar, and we place no limits on their achievements.”

40% of Northwood girls have achieved straight A*/A grades and this successful year group can now look forward to taking their well-deserved places at outstanding institutions, such as, Oxford, UCL and King’s College London.

Rebecca Brown commented: “I believe that our year-on-year academic success is because we really do know each student, we recognise her individual strengths and think deeply and strategically about how best to develop her talents, whilst motivating and challenging her each step of the way.

“Saying goodbye to our Year 13s is hard, but we look forward to hearing of their future achievements and I am confident that each student leaves school equipped not just with strong academic credentials, but also with the confidence, skill set and values to truly succeed, ready to take her place in a world full of opportunity and fully cognisant of her own strength, power, and capability.”
