Putney High School celebrating a record year for GCSE results

Putney High School is celebrating a record year for GCSE results, with some half at the top 9 grade – its highest ever when examinations were taken, and equalling the centre assessed grades of 2020.

In addition:

• Three quarters of results were at 9 or 8 (A*)

• 13 students achieved a straight run of 10 or more grade 9s

• 90% of grades were awarded grades 9 – 7

There were high scoring subjects across the disciplines – from English Literature (66% grade 9) and Geography (64% grade 9) to Latin (71% grade 9) and Biology (56% grade 9).

Almost half the year group achieved grade 9 in English Language, Maths and Physics.

“Putney’s many linguists excelled, with results including Mandarin and Spanish with 50% and 52% grade 9s respectively.“After two years of uncertainty and disruption, we are delighted that this fantastic year group have had all their perseverance rewarded with some exceptional results. Year 11 have shown enormous spirit and positivity throughout their GCSE course, putting their all into not only on their studies, but on their many passions and interests outside the classroom. I look forward to seeing them progress in the Sixth Form.”- Head Suzie Longstaff
