Sheffield High student wins GDST Lorna Cocking Scholarship

We are thrilled to announce that the winner of the Lorna Cocking Scholarship is Chelsea Bacon from Sheffield High School for Girls.

The Lorna Cocking Scholarship was set up to mark the outstanding contribution made by Lorna Cocking, who retired as Chair of the GDST in 2014, after a very successful seven-year tenure. The annual prize provides financial support for a student during her higher education studies.

The applicants were judged according to the impact that the scholarship funding would have on the next stage of their education journey, alongside their contribution to school life and their grades.

Chelsea intends to study Business Management at Newcastle University and will receive £1,000 per year for three years.

Many congratulations Chelsea – a worthy scholarship recipient.
