Students take part in RSC live broadcast

On Thursday 21st April, Year 10 students at Howell’s School, Llandaff were enthralled by a live broadcast of the Merchant of Venice, performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. The performance, delivered ahead of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death on 23rd April, vividly brought to life all of the characters that the students have been studying since September last year.

The students joined schools across the UK to take part in the live broadcast of the play, which was set against a dazzling modern backdrop. Cheers rang out around the room as a question written by Howell’s student, Isabelle F., was answered on air by the actor playing Antonio in the production.

Everyone was thrilled to see the school listed in the credits at the end of the broadcast!
