Sutton High alumna is featured in the Big Life Fix for Children in Need

Former Sutton High School student, Ruby, is now senior design strategist at Smart Design.  She was invited along with seven others to be a ‘fixer’ for BBC2’s Big Life Fix special Children in Need episode. The show involved the team of inventors creating new and life-changing solutions for children with disabilities. Ruby’s ‘fix’ involved eight-year-old Josh from London. Ruby also appeared on BBC Breakfast, speaking about her experience designing with the Big Life Fix.

She graduated from Kingston University and then went on to gain a Master’s degree in Innovation Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College, London. Since then she has been awarded two Helen Hamlyn Design Awards for Creativity and Inclusive Design, and has received honourable mentions from Core77 Design and RSA for her design solutions combating issues such as social isolation in older people.
