Top grades and a legacy of determination and togetherness for Brighton Girls Class of 2022

A-Level students at Brighton Girls have achieved an outstanding set of results, with 33% of all grades awarded being A* and 60% A*/A. Staff and parents joined Year 13 leavers to celebrate some superb individual achievements and to reflect on the legacy of this talented group – one of determination, kindness and togetherness during a time of unprecedented challenge.

As the Class of 2022 prepare for new adventures, heading for destinations that include the University of Cambridge, the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and University College London, we reflect on an extraordinary two years.

Rosie McColl, Head of Brighton Girls, commented:

“I am proud of everything our students have achieved and feel more confident than ever that our Year 13s are leaving us with the courage, confidence, and self-knowledge for lifelong success. I am delighted by these A Level results and equally delighted to be celebrating the many different pathways our students are taking: degree courses as diverse as Engineering, Classics, Medicine, Dance, Art and Design and Business Enterprise, and destinations that include Cambridge, UCL, York and Bath reflect both the high calibre of our students and their determination to pursue their individual passions”.

Among the many individual successes celebrated today, four students achieved straight A*s. Phoebe Knight achieved four A* grades in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths and will take up a place to study Engineering at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge; Deputy Head Girl and talented dancer, Phoebe Dowglass, achieved four A*s in the same STEM subjects – Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths – and is heading to the prestigious Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance; Head Girl, Molly Kronhamn achieved A*s in Classical Civilisation, English Literature and History and is set to begin a degree in Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance at the University of York; and Rosie Hall achieved four A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Latin, Maths, and an A* in her Extended Project Qualification and will study Biomedical Sciences at University College London.

Congratulations to the Class of 2022! They will be a hard act to follow.
