Teacher of Economics

Required from September 2021

Full time / Permanent

Competitive salary plus benefits

Bromley High School presents an exciting opportunity for a creative and inspirational Teacher of Economics to join the team of an outstanding HMC school where Economics is a highly regarded academic discipline.

As Teacher of Economics, you will contribute strongly to providing pupils with a breadth of opportunity, teaching them how to analyse numerical and written data, evaluate different points of view and express themselves clearly on paper and verbally in class discussion.

You will also be prepared to offer support and contribute actively to the work of the department. This will include making a generous contribution to co-curricular activities, such as Young Enterprise and Debating.

You will be joining an Economics and Business department which prides itself on challenging pupils academically and supporting them to achieve their very best. We see each girl as an individual and recognise the need for an individualised approach to teaching and learning. We encourage our pupils to enter external competitions and have had notable success, with students winning competitions that have resulted in them securing prestigious city internships (GDST Nomura scholarship).

To be considered for this role, you will need a good degree (normally 2:1 or above) in Economics or a closely related subject, with a passion for Economics and the ability to communicate and engage pupils in effective and exciting learning. Experience of teaching A Level is equally important.
